Editing your server config

Change track, cars, sessions and rules from the Config tab, safely.

AC EVO servers are configured with two JSON files from Kunos:

  • serverconfig - the server itself: name, slots, passwords, network settings.
  • seasondefinition - the event: track, cars, sessions and race rules.

The Config tab lets you edit both. A guided editor is on the way; until then, it’s the raw JSON.

Safe editing

  • The editor checks your JSON as you type. If it says it’s invalid, the server never sees it.
  • Format tidies indentation so it’s easier to read.
  • Save sends the files to your server. If it’s running you choose: Apply now (it restarts, and the panel asks first) or On next restart (nothing happens until you or a schedule restarts it).
  • History keeps your last 50 saves. Pick one to see exactly what changed, and Restore it if a change didn’t work out.
  • Server name and passwords live under Settings, not here - the panel fills those in for you.

Tips

  • After a game update, Kunos sometimes adds new options (0.9 added pit-stop rules). Our changelog notes anything that affects config.
  • If the server crashes right after saving, the console usually says which setting it didn’t like. Fix it and save again.
