What’s new

Plain-English notes on what changed for people who run servers with Pitwall. Engineering detail lives in the git history; this page is about what you’ll notice.

Each entry also says which Assetto Corsa EVO versions we’ve checked it against - see Game versions at the bottom of the changelog page.

Unreleased

Changed

  • Community sites have four doors: Home · Laps · Races · Drivers. Laps lists your servers with How to drive first, then the leaderboards and records. Races puts championships, the rounds coming up and every result on one page. A door only shows when there’s something behind it, and Members, Rules and News moved to the footer. Leaderboards now say This week / All time (with the date the board started) instead of “Season”, and championship pages hide tabs with nothing in them yet.
  • New hosted prices: you pay for slots, nothing else. Four packages, all in US dollars a month, and every one has every feature: Starter 10 slots US$6, Club 20 slots US$10, League 30 slots US$14 and Endurance 50 slots US$20. The more slots, the less each one costs (US$0.60 down to US$0.40). League and Endurance also get more CPU. Existing subscriptions keep working at their current price.
  • Telemetry is included on every server, with the graphs, maps, lap compare and replays. You can still switch it per server to on, results only or off.
  • Community Pro is retired. What it added is now included with every paid server and self-host licence: a second community, no “Hosted on Pitwall” line and your own domain (when custom domains open). If you were paying for it, it no longer renews.

5 October 2026 - Prices in US dollars

Changed

  • Plans are now priced in US dollars, and checkout is run by Polar, our reseller: Polar takes the payment, adds any sales tax or VAT your country charges and sends the receipts (current prices on the Pricing page). You can keep several subscriptions - a server, a self-host licence and Community Pro - on one billing account, and manage them all from Billing → Payment methods & invoices.

4 October 2026 - Communities: your league’s home on Pitwall

New

  • A site for your community at pitwall.gg/c/your-name. Your servers with who’s on and what’s running, the next event with a countdown, the calendar (subscribe in any calendar app), race nights, standings, lap records, drift leaderboards on drift servers, your drivers, news and your own pages: About, Rules and more. Set it up under Account → Community, pick your colour, upload a logo and banner, and switch it to public when you’re ready. Your old league address takes visitors to the new site.
  • Championships the way ACSM shows them. Standings by driver, class and team, the points matrix with dropped rounds struck through, round cards with the podium, pole, fastest lap and laps led, entrants with attendance, registrations and the points table.
  • Drivers join with Discord. Followers keep up with the community; drivers link Steam and register for a championship with their class, car, skin and number. You approve, waitlist or keep them as a reserve; approving puts them on the entry list. Drivers can say whether they’ll make each round, and you can see who actually turned up.
  • The Pitwall bot for your Discord. It posts results with a picture of the podium, round reminders and your news, sends approved drivers the server password in a private message, can give drivers a Driver role, and answers /next, /standings and /register.
  • Move a server to another organisation, or turn your personal organisation into a team with everything in it: what a community needs to run with more than one admin.
  • Community Pro adds a second community, removes the “Hosted on Pitwall” line and (soon) your own domain and the rich analytics. Standings, results and everything above stay free with your server or self-host licence.

For self-hosters

  • Set PANEL_COMMUNITY_SLUG and your box gets the community site too; once public, visitors to the panel’s address see it.

Security

  • Sign-in and form cookies now use the browser’s strictest cookie rules (__Host- names over HTTPS). You stay signed in: the old cookies move over on your next visit.

4 October 2026 - A Server Manager for every server

New

  • Everything about a server in one place. Open a server from your list and you’re in its Server Manager: live timing with the track map, results, telemetry, stewarding, events, championships, hotlapping, config, files, logs and settings, each in the side menu. Switch servers from the top of the menu and you stay on the same page.
  • Your account is separate. Servers, ordering, billing, self-host licences, leagues and your profile live under Account. Old links and bookmarks still work: they take you to the new place.
  • Download results. Every session on the Results page downloads as a CSV (classification or every lap), JSON or an ACSM results file; championship standings download as CSV.
  • Incidents to review. Stewarding lists the contacts, pile-ups, wall hits and track-limits streaks the race data service flagged, with a replay of each and a one-click start on a penalty.

4 October 2026 - Discord posts for your league

New

  • Round reminders, sign-ups and results in your league’s Discord. Add a webhook on the league page and pick what it gets: reminders before each round (24 hours and 1 hour by default, shown in everyone’s own time zone), new and approved sign-ups, and a results post after each race with the top 10, fastest lap, the race report headline and how the championship standings moved. If the final results aren’t in after 20 minutes we post a clearly marked provisional one. Only driver display names are posted, and restarts never post twice.

3 October 2026 - Renamed Slipstream → Pitwall

Slipstream is now Pitwall (pitwall.gg). Nothing changes for your servers or plans.

For operators and self-hosters

  • Deploy the panel and host agents together. The fleet protocol package is now pitwall.fleet.v1; a mixed-version fleet cannot talk to each other.
  • Install paths are now /opt/pitwall and /etc/pitwall. The host agent still falls back to /etc/slipstream/agent.creds if the new creds file is missing (for one release).
  • systemd units are renamed: pitwall-acevo@, pitwall-hostagent, pitwall-panel.
  • Wrapper environment variable SLIPSTREAM_SERVER_ID is now PITWALL_SERVER_ID; the old name is still set alongside it for one release.
  • Go module path is now github.com/pitwall-gg/pitwall-panel.

3 October 2026 - Teams, schedules, config history and alerts

New

  • Share your server with your league. Invite co-admins as viewers, operators or managers with a one-time link. Billing stays with you, and the activity log shows who did what.
  • Scheduled restarts. Restart, stop or start your server on the days and times you pick, in your timezone. A run that would be late is skipped, never run mid-race.
  • Config history. Every config save is kept (last 50). Compare any version with the current one and restore it in a click.
  • Apply config on the next restart. Save changes during a session without kicking anyone; they load the next time the server restarts.
  • Discord notifications. Get crashes, recoveries, restarts and more posted to your league’s Discord.
  • Console history and log downloads. The console now shows recent output when you open it, and you can download up to 7 days of logs.
  • A “Get race-night ready” checklist on each new server: how drivers join, setting up the event, a pre-race restart and inviting your stewards. Hide it once you’re set.
  • New pages on the website: Features, a sample race night (live map, timing tower, sectors and lap comparison with sample data) and our story.

Improved

  • Plan changes now resize your server. Upgrading or downgrading stages the new slots, CPU cores and memory, and they apply on the next restart - with a clear “changes waiting” banner. A move to a smaller plan applies within 24 hours if you haven’t restarted by then.
  • You’ll see a warning if we lose contact with the machine running your server.
  • Stopping or restarting a running server always asks first.

Fixed

  • Upgrading your plan didn’t change your server’s size. It does now.
  • Game updates are no longer a per-server button: the game is shared on each machine, so we roll updates out after testing them.
  • The profile page no longer claims your SteamID grants in-game admin - that feature isn’t live yet.

3 October 2026 - Game version tracking and guides

New

  • See which AC EVO version your server runs. The server page now shows the game build installed on your server, whether we’ve verified it works with Pitwall, and when a newer build is out.
  • Game compatibility at a glance. The changelog page lists every AC EVO dedicated-server release with its date and our support status: verified, works with known issues, testing, not tested yet, or broken.
  • Guides. Step-by-step help for getting started, joining your server, editing config, what happens when AC EVO updates, billing, and installing Pitwall on your own hardware.

For operators

  • We now watch Steam for new AC EVO dedicated-server builds every 30 minutes, so we hear about game updates before you do.

AC EVO compatibility: not yet verified against any release - verification of 0.9.1 is next.

2 October 2026 - A faster, friendlier control panel

New

  • Light mode, plus a theme switcher (light, dark or follow your system).
  • Quick search - press Ctrl/⌘ + K anywhere in the panel to jump to a server, page or action.
  • Dedicated CPU cores. Every hosted server now runs on its own physical CPU cores with a fixed memory allowance, so a busy server next door can’t make yours stutter. Your plan shows exactly what you get.

Improved

  • Stopping or restarting a server with drivers connected now tells you how many will be kicked and asks first.
  • Deleting things that can’t be undone (licences, your account) asks you to type the name to confirm.
  • The live console can be filtered, keeps up as new lines arrive, and has a Jump to latest button.
  • The config editor checks your JSON as you type and can tidy it up for you.
  • Clearer messages in the activity log (“Server online” instead of “State → running”).
  • Pages load faster.

Fixed

  • The server page could briefly show an old status (“Stopping…”) after a server had already stopped.

1 October 2026 - Pitwall opens its doors (preview)

New

  • Order a hosted AC EVO server in Sydney, Frankfurt or Ashburn, paid monthly with Stripe.
  • Live status and console for every server, with start, stop, restart and game-update controls.
  • Self-host licences for running Pitwall on your own hardware, with downloads in the panel.
  • Sign in with Discord.
